My grandchildren and great-grandchildren need a better political system than the highly- polarized one we have seen develop over the last few years. This is why I have been involved with the Common Sense Party and the Forward Party of California since the spring of 2023.

I have been politically active intermittently since the late 1960s, being involved in pro- choice activities prior to Roe V Wade, public land access issues and the California Desert Protection Act, the Kern County library initiative in 2018, and most recently with the Forward Party California. Politically, I am socially liberal and fiscally conservative, a RINO whose party left me years ago.

I am a retired Critical Care physician, active with the Kern County Friends of the Library, a member of the Board of Directors of the Mojave Desert Heritage and Cultural Association, and past treasurer of the Bakersfield Trailblazers 4 x 4 Club.
